| Abstract | The textile industry in India, one of the oldest and most labour-intensive sectors, is undergoing a significant transformation from traditional units characterised by manual processes to modern, technology-driven enterprises. This shift necessitates a comparative understanding of how human resource (HR) practices influence employee performance and organizational productivity. Drawing insights from previous studies on employee attitude, performance effectiveness, and HR-driven strategies, this paper examines how HR practices such as recruitment, training and development, performance appraisal, and motivation impact workforce outcomes across traditional and modern textile units. The study finds that while traditional units often rely on informal and hierarchical practices, modern units adopt structured HR policies integrated with technology, leading to higher job satisfaction, improved productivity, and sustainable competitiveness. The paper concludes that strategic HR practices, when aligned with organizational needs and technological integration, serve as a catalyst for employee engagement and long-term productivity in the textile industry. |
