Abstract This study aimed to examine the effects of core training on selected physical fitness variables in male volleyball players. Thirty male athletes participated and were randomly assigned to either a treatment group, which underwent a structured core training program, or a control group, which continued their usual activities without additional intervention. The experimental group performed core exercises five days per week over an eight-week period. Pre- and post-intervention assessments were conducted to evaluate leg explosive power, measured via vertical jump (cm), and muscular endurance, assessed through modified sit-ups (repetitions). Statistical analysis using‘t’--tests revealed that eight weeks of core training resulted in significant improvements in both leg explosive power and muscular endurance in the experimental group. These findings indicate that core training is an effective strategy for enhancing key physical fitness components in male volleyball players.
