Abstract This study investigates the influence of parent’s economic status on students’ academic performance in secondary schools, using a case of three selected government secondary schools in Kagadi District. The study focused on the three specific objectives: To examine the impact of parental income on students’ academic achievement, to explore the influence of parental education level on students’ academic performance, and to analyze the relationship between parental occupation and students access to educational resources and opportunities
