| Abstract | Core stability is a vital aspect of physical fitness, particularly among obese individuals who are at a higher risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders and experiencing functional limitations. Calisthenics exercises and swiss ball exercises are two popular forms of exercise that improves core stability, but their effectiveness among obese individuals has not been well-studied. Aim of the Study: The aim of the study is to determine the effect of calisthenics exercises versus swiss ball exercises on core stability in obese individuals. Materials and Methods: The study includes 20 Males (aged 20 – 25), with BMI level 30 – 35. Individuals are assessed using plank test to determine the core stability. Group A received Calisthenics exercises and Group B received Swiss ball exercises for 45 minutes per session, 3 sessions per week for 8 weeks. Results: Both groups showed significant improvements in core stability measures at end of the experiment compared to baseline. However, Group A which received Calisthenics exercises showed greater improvements in plank test (unpaired ‘t’ value 13.3956) than Group B which received Swiss ball exercises (unpaired ‘t’ value 8.5260) Conclusion: The study concludes that the group which received calisthenics exercises showed significant improvements when compared to other group which received Swiss ball exercises. |
