Educational Implication Of Yoga Practice For Holistic Development Of Students In Accordance With NEP 2020

Abstract The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 represents a major and transformative shift in India’s education system, emphasizing holistic development and the inclusion of traditional Indian knowledge, including yoga .Yoga is a system of practice which helps the development in the fields of physical, mental, social level means it leads to holistic development of the human beings. When the body is physically healthy, the mind is clear, focused it helps to minimize the stress . This gives the individual adapt with surrounding environment. When you are healthy you are in touch with your inner Self, with others and your surroundings on a much deeper level leads to peaceful emotional development. The word “Yoga” originates from Sanskrit and it means “to join or to unite”. Yoga exercises have a holistic effect and bring the body, mind; consciousness and soul into a proper balance which makes the holistic developed individual and it produce valuable citizen of the society. The main aims of Yoga practice are responsible for developing physical Health, mental health, social health, and spiritual health in such a manner that helps to develop Self-Realization or realization of the Divine within us. Yoga Practice create a peaceful state of mind , positive life styles ,inculcate the value like protection for environment , nature and also love and help for all living beings. The study aims to assess the extent of their integration and the perceived benefits for students' overall development through a comprehensive review of NEP2020 policy documents, scholarly articles. The information for the study has been collected mainly from many books, reviews, articles which were consulted during the study period.
