Investor Behaviour and ESG Integration: A Study of Portfolio Management Practices in India

Abstract	The current study scrutinises the amalgamation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics into portfolio management practices among Indian investors, with a focus on how behavioural factors influence investment decisions. With ESG considerations gaining prominence in global financial markets, Indian institutional and retail investors are gradually incorporating sustainability factors into asset allocation and risk assessment processes. Using a mixed-method approach, the current piece of research work syndicates primary survey data from 30 institutional investors with secondary ESG scores of 50 NSE-listed companies to assess the degree, drivers, and challenges of ESG integration in portfolio selection.
