Application of Polymeric Hydrogels in the Medical Field: A General Review

Author(s) Dr. Dr. Amar Nath
Country India
Abstract Polymeric hydrogels have introduced as multitalented biomaterials which shows major used in the medical field outstanding to their more water retention capability, biocompatibility, and structural resemblance to natural extracellular matrices (ECM). Their three dimensional, cross linked polymeric moiety permit limited swelling, drug encapsulation, sustained release and make them gorgeous researcher towards drug delivery, wound healing, and tissue engineering. Hydrogels synthesized by natural and synthetic polymers both are enhancing engineered with tunable character like bio degradability, mechanical potential, and sensitivity to stimuli including pH, temperature, and enzymes. These properties enhanced targeted therapeutic delivery, plainly insidious uses and improved patient outcomes. Recently focal point towards smart hydrogels that have a variety of functional groups shows competence for regenerative medicine, biosensing, and exactness therapies. Although hopeful outcomes, challenges are remain in large scale manufacture, mechanical stability, and long-term biocompatibility. This review gives a universal impression of the relevance of polymeric hydrogels in the medical field, focused on their design principles, functional characteristics, and current therapeutic applications, while also concentrate on the limitations and future prospective of this flexible category of biomaterials.
