Role of Haritha Karma Sena in Promoting Sustainable Waste Management in Kerala

Abstract Haritha Karma Sena is a women-led initiative in Kerala, integrated with the Kudumbashree Mission, which plays a central role in decentralized solid waste management across Local Self Government Institutions.This study investigates the role of Haritha Karma Sena (HKS) in advancing sustainable waste management practices across Kerala. Using a primary dataset of 543 samples collected from various local bodies, this research evaluates the impact, efficiency, and public perception of HKS activities.
