Harmony of Mind: A Homoeopathic Insight into Mental Health

| Abstract | Mental health is a public health priority because mental disorders affect a significant portion of the global population, leading to substantial individual suffering, disability, and premature death. Poor mental health also has widespread social and economic consequences, including reduced productivity, strained relationships, increased poverty, and a higher risk of human rights violations. More than 1 billion people worldwide live with a mental disorder. Nearly 1 in 7 people globally live with a mental disorder. In 2021, 14% of the global population – more than one billion individuals – were estimated to be living with a mental disorder, most of whom were in LMICs, where most of the world’s population live.(1) Pre-pandemic, in 2019, an estimated 970 million people in the world were living with a mental disorder, 82% of whom were in LMICs (96). Between 2000 and 2019, an estimated 25% more people were living with mental disorders.(2) |
