Diamond Tears of Ideal Muses: A Psychoanalytic Study of Select Songs of BTS

| Abstract | The paper titled “Diamond Tears of Ideal Muses: A Psychoanalytic Study of Select Songs of BTS” explores the deeper, often melancholic layers behind the music created by the globally successful boyband BTS. While BTS is renowned for its uplifting and therapeutic music that resonates with millions of fans worldwide, the paper suggests a contrasting view, where the creators themselves may not experience the same healing effects. The title itself, “Diamond Tears of Ideal Muses,” evokes a sense of both brilliance and sorrow, possibly indicating the paradox of how music, which can bring comfort and hope to listeners, may be rooted in pain, struggle, or emotional turmoil for the artists themselves. This exploration could highlight how the therapeutic nature of music does not necessarily mean that the musicians feel healed or fulfilled themselves. It points to the emotional complexities of being an artist. Ultimately, this perspective reinforces the notion that art and its impact on both creators and audiences can be multi-dimensional and nuanced. |
