A Conceptual Extension of Partition Values in Descriptive Statistics: Inclusion of Hypothetical Extremes in Data Partitioning

Abstract This paper extends the concept of partition values—quartiles, deciles, and percentiles—by introducing hypothetical boundary points beyond the observed minimum and maximum. The proposed framework ensures clearer interpretation of data segments and resolves ambiguities in boundary definitions.
