The Cashless Revolution: Unlocking Financial Inclusion Worldwide

Author(s) Aditya Mantri
Country India
Abstract A cashless economy is one in which most of the economic transactions happening in the community are conducted in an electronic form. Countries such as India, Sweden, China, and Kenya are each using digital payment systems to build/enhance the economic activity of the people/businesses in their countries. Usage of digital payment systems improves efficiency, convenience, and transparency; however, the use of digital payment systems creates troubling issues including accessibility, privacy, and safety for the most vulnerable people in society to consider. This research project will examine cashless economies globally and the impacts on financial inclusion.
