| Abstract | Socio-Economic condition is the position or status of an individual or a group of individuals which is based on some socio-economic factors such as income, education, type of houses, occupation and caloric intake per head and so on. The study of Socio-economic condition of a particular area reveals the inequalities prevail in that area in accessing benefit of government welfare programmes. This type of study is also helpful to find out the actual situation and appropriate measures can be taken thereafter. The prime objective of this paper is to find out the socio-economic condition of people of market area of Fakiragram village of Kokrajhar district. This study is based on primary and secondary sources of data. Socio-economic factors such as education, type of houses, occupation, and income have been selected for this study. This study indicates that the socio-economic condition of the village is moderate. But majority of the people of the study area suffers from income insecurity. |
