Review Paper On Analysis & Design of Prestressed Concrete Flat Slab Using Various Codes

Author(s) Nandini Rajesh Bhaikatti
Country India
Abstract Prestressed concrete flat slabs are becoming increasingly popular as a structural and architectural alternative to typical reinforced concrete systems. Their application allows for longer spans, thinner slabs, less cracking, and improved serivceability performance. This paper summarizes the analytical & design approaches used in major databases such as IS:456, IS:1343, ACI:318, and Eurocode:2.
The topics covered include deflection control, span-to-depth optimization, punching shear process, stress limitations, and tendon profiling. This report also reviews the results from experimental, numerical, and comparative research and examines the role of software-based analysis. These findings underline the importance of uniform codal provisions and sophisticated modeling tools to improve structural stability of prestressed concrete flat slabs.
