| Abstract | As the world is nearing the end of the 2nd decade of the 21st century, the world at large has recognized (or is starting to realize) the need and significance of clean energy. Whether it is in international climate conferences, local government policies, emergence of clean alternatives to fossil fuels or the spread of the discourse around climate change among the masses, it is clear that clean and green energy is the future. This research paper discusses a very vital element of this climate revolution, government subsidies and their role in making clean fuel a household thing even in low income groups. The paper will discuss key concepts, major policy decisions and recent developments in the area in a span of 2 well organized chapters and in the last chapter, will conclude the study by discussing pertaining issues and possible solutions. |
