Advancing Bodo Nationalism: Embracing Ethnicity for Progress

Author(s) Lawyer Dr Chitta Ranjan Boruah
Country India
Abstract Abstract:
This research explores the philosophical, constitutional, and socio-political dimensions of Bodo nationalism. It analyzes the significance of the Bodo Accord of 2003, the leadership of U.N. Brahma, and the struggle of the Bodo people to preserve ethnic identity while participating in the democratic process of India. The study emphasizes the relationship between ethnic rights, constitutional provisions, and human rights, highlighting how Bodo nationalism has been both a product of historical struggles and a catalyst for democratic participation in Northeast India. The research concludes that for sustainable peace and development, Bodo nationalism must strengthen democratic norms, preserve cultural heritage, and align with both constitutional ideals and international human rights frameworks.
