Abstract Tenofovir alafenamide and Emtricitabine are NRTIs (nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors) frequently utilized in combination therapy for treating Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection. The two medications show strong oral bioavailability, and their pharmacokinetics are mostly unchanged by food consumption. Tenofovir alafenamide reaches its highest plasma level in 1-2 hours, whereas Emtricitabine attains peak concentrations in about 1 hour after taking it. This brief overview emphasizes analytical methods for the concurrent estimation of Tenofovir alafenamide and Emtricitabine with other drugs in both bulk and dosage formulations, it encompasses high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) technique. Future research should focus on the development of more sensitive and selective RP-HPLC methods for the analysis of pharmaceutical compounds. The presented information is useful for the future study for researcher involved in formulation development and quality control analysis of drugs like Emtricitabine and Tenofovir alafenamide.
Keywords RP-HPLC, Emtricitabine, Tenofovir alafenamide and quality control.
