Abstract Background: Lifestyle diseases are increasing among sedentary populations, especially women in office-based jobs.
Objective: To assess the knowledge and practice of lifestyle disease prevention among sedentary women employees.
Methods: A descriptive survey design was adopted among 200 sedentary women employees at Civil Station, Kozhikode. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and reported practice checklist. Analysis included descriptive statistics, Chi-square, and Pearson’s correlation.
Results: 57.5% of participants had excellent knowledge, while 60.5% had only average practice. Preventive practices were significantly associated with educational status and food habits (p < 0.05). No significant correlation was found between knowledge and practice (r = 0.071, p = 0.317).
Conclusion: Although knowledge levels were high, preventive practices were poor. Workplace interventions targeting lifestyle modification are essential.
