Abstract	Background: The common cold is one of the most prevalent minor respiratory illnesses among toddlers, often causing nasal congestion, cough, and general discomfort. In rural Indian communities, traditional remedies such as homemade vapour rubs are frequently used by caregivers, but scientific evidence regarding their effectiveness remains limited. Integrating cultural practices with modern research may offer valuable alternatives for symptom management in early childhood.
