Dubai's Tasreef Project - A solution to water crisis

| Abstract | Water scarcity is a problem growing around the world, which is increasing and becoming worse by urbanization, industry and farming. Sources like the wells and rivers cannot always supply water during less rainfall. This is why rainwater harvesting is a sustainable alternative. The aim of this following study highlights the necessity of rainwater harvesting with connection to the Dubai’s Tasreef Project. The Tasreef project is an initiative which is taken to develop a rainwater harvesting system with an investment worth AED 30 Billion. This project is said to be as the largest rainwater harvesting system in the region making Dubai’s infrastructure enhanced. |
