Abstract The success of GEMS shows how market segmentation and product differentiation gives a company a edge in a monopolistic competition. GEMS illustrates how strong brand and quality focus creates customers and Loyalty. Through reputation we can also reduce the sensitivity to price increases. The UAE’s policy of encouraging private sector participation created a fertile environment for growth and expansion. GEMS’s strategic planning allowed it to dominate and expand in comparison to its competitors.
