Abstract In today’s global context, education systems must continuously adapt to prepare students not only for academic success but also for personal and professional growth. This study set out to compare the perceptions of 74 students aged 20 - 26 from India and 18 other countries, using a mixed-methods design that combined quantitative tools such as Likert scales, star ratings, and multiple-choice questions with qualitative open-ended responses. The data was analysed through descriptive statistics and thematic coding to examine key areas including curriculum relevance, teaching methodologies, academic stress, institutional support, and opportunities for holistic skill development.
The findings revealed significant cross-country differences: Indian students reported higher academic stress and limited exposure to experiential learning, while international students highlighted stronger frameworks for skill-building, support services, and interactive pedagogies. Emerging themes included the demand for flexible curricula, practical exposure, emotional well-being support, and student-centred approaches. Based on these insights, the study proposes an Ideal Global Education Model that integrates the strengths of both Indian and international systems to create an inclusive, flexible, and learner-driven ecosystem, offering valuable implications for policymakers, educators, and institutions seeking future-ready reforms.
