The Dasa–Yuga Framework (DYF): AModelReconciling Puranic Yuga Cycles withAstronomicalTime Scales via Vimsottari Dasa Mapping

Author(s) Mr. Swaminathan Subramanian
Country India
Abstract The Dasa–Yuga Framework (DYF) is a theoretical model that reconciles Puranic cosmologywith astronomical time cycles through nested dasa scaling. Originating in an analysisofRahu as the archetype of impunity, the study uses 1620 CE as a psyche anchor markingashift from religious dominance to rationalist modernity. From this anchor, the workingstart ofKali Yuga is extended from the traditional 3102 BCE to 4380 BCE, allowing the Vimsottari (120-year lunar) sequence used in Jyotisha (BPHS) to overlay cleanly on the yuga order. Thisyields a coherent interior cycle of 14,400 years (the full dasa horizon = 120×120years), which scales to a Mahāyuga constant (Mc) of 129,600 years (9 DYFC) and to 144,000years (10 DYFC) when expressed with sandhi as 10×Kali (Dasa Yuga) under the classical 4:3:2:1 partition (Satya, Treta, Dvapara, Kali). DYF preserves traditional totals whilerevealing their internal regularity, positioning the model as a bridge between psychological rhythms and long-range chronology. Public validation is limited to the twentieth-centurydisruption (World War II); transition mechanics and applied data are reserved for ongoingstudies.
