Abstract This paper provides an applied economic analysis of the "GST 2.0" reforms, scheduled for launch in October 2025, examining their role in sustaining India's macroeconomic momentum and strategically enhancing regional competitiveness. Framed within the Viksit Bharat 2047 national vision , the study finds that the reform, which includes a new rate rationalization, is explicitly designed to empower the economy and provide significant benefits to the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. The applied section focuses on the state of Andhra Pradesh, demonstrating how targeted GST cuts—including reductions on fishing gear, auto components, and medical devices—are projected to lower costs, boost affordability (e.g., vehicles becoming ~8% cheaper ), and solidify the state's role as a dynamic economic hub, aligning its sectoral strengths with the goals of national development.
