Abstract The study highlights the importance of human capital's capacity in adopting Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the prevention of elephant poaching in Tanzania's national parks. The findings indicate that national parks have made significant progress in building the capacity of their staff to utilize GIS technology effectively. Training programs, financial support, institutional backing, and policy frameworks have played a crucial role in enhancing human capital readiness for GIS adoption. Recommendations include the continuous implementation of training programs, investment in advanced GIS tools, infrastructure development, and strategic planning to optimize GIS technology use. Collaboration between parks, sustainable resource allocation, and prioritizing innovation are also essential for maintaining the long-term effectiveness of GIS technologies in elephant poaching prevention. By addressing these recommendations, Tanzania's National Parks can further strengthen their capacity to combat elephant poaching and contribute to wildlife conservation efforts in the region.
