Impressionism led to Post Impressionism and its characteristics

| Abstract | Impressionist and Post-Impressionist had many differences and few similarities too. Post -Impressionist rejected certain ideas of Impressionist and which is what caused a whole new movement on its own. Paul Cézanne, the "father of Post-Impressionism" and came up with unique characteristics in an attempt to create something solid and durable, which was later adapted too, many fields of art such as sculpture and architecture. The paper will establish the differences between the two styles and will shed some light on what caused the difference and what led to such a movement. We will also look at what are the features of Impressionism and the ideas the Impressionists carried. |
