| Abstract | A prevalent virus that can impact several bodily areas is the human papilloma virus (HPV). The Human Papilloma Virus comes in more than 100 varieties, some of which can produce warts on your face, hands, or feet. 30 Human Papilloma Virus types can impact your rectum and anus, as well as your vulva, vagina, cervix, penis, and scrotum. Cervical cancer is the most common cancer and one of the leading cause of death among female population. Fortunately, this cancer is preventable by Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine but this is rarely provided and hardly utilised. It is advised that children be routinely vaccinated against the human papillomavirus at the age of eleven or twelve. Depending on the age at which the first dose is administered, HPV vaccination is administered in a series of additional two or three doses. Aim: The aim of the study is to assess the Effectiveness of Structured Teaching Programme on Knowledge regarding Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine among Adolescents (14-18years) in selected schools of district Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. The study revealed that in pre-test 5 adolescents (8.4%) had adequate knowledge, 48 adolescents (80%) had moderately adequate knowledge and 7 adolescents (11.6%) and in post-test 49 adolescents (81.6%) had Adequate knowledge, 11 adolescents (18.4%) had Moderately Adequate knowledge and no one was in inadequate knowledge. The study depicted that there is no significant association between level of knowledge regarding human papilloma virus vaccine with their selected sociodemographic variable that is Age, Religion, Type Of family, do you have knowledge regarding Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine, If yes, then source of information on Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine, Have you been vaccinated with Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine. |
