Praxinoscopic View of War through a Hegelian-durkheimian-clausewitzian Lens

Author(s) Dr. NDJIMOU DURAND CASTRO
Country France
Abstract This paper proposes an innovative theoretical framework, the praxinoscopy of war, integrating the conceptual contributions of Carl von Clausewitz, Émile Durkheim, and Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. Through this interdisciplinary approach, we analyze war as a total social fact, where the strategic, sociological, and philosophical dimensions converge. Our theoretical framework transcends the fragmentary approaches predominant within Political Sciences and goes further to examining how war logic permeate and transform all social structures. This article demonstrates the operational relevance of this theoretical lens by analysing contemporary conflicts, especially hybrid wars and the Ukrainian conflict, thus revealing the contemporary relevance of classical perspectives in understanding the conflict dynamics in the 21st century.
