| Abstract | Mechanobiology is an emerging field of multidisciplinary research studying how the physical properties of the cell environment and mechanical loads regulate biological processes at the cellular, tissue, and molecular levels. It adopts ideas from physics, biology, and engineering to comprehend how cells sense, translate, and respond to mechanical stimuli. These mechanotransduction signalling pathways are central to critical activities like migration, growth, differentiation, and tissue homeostasis. Mechanobiology has also enhanced the understanding of mechanisms of disease, for example, cancer development, fibrosis, cardiovascular diseases, and musculoskeletal degeneration. With the advent of advanced tools such as micro fluidics, atomic force microscopy, and computational models, the field continues to expand in the fields of diagnostics, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine. Lastly, mechanobiology integrates mechanical stimulation and biological effects, opening new pathways for therapeutic innovations |
