| Abstract | Quality Education has been a crucial parameter in the development of any nation worldwide. It is always believed that the development in some nations was due to their quality and relevant education. The title of the paper is Community engagement in management of schools for Challenges Facing Quality Education in Tanzania: Lessons to be learnt from India’s NEP 2020. This paper examined the community's engagement in schools’ management to alleviate the challenges facing quality education. Tanzania was a reference study area for this topic. The researcher employed a systematic review, utilizing more than 30 documents, including Government notifications and other official documents related to education and its management. Also, current and relevant documents were analyzed for this study. In many countries, including Tanzania and India, the government has tried to engage the community in the management of schools’ education, which was expected to minimize the challenges facing quality education. This paper primarily highlights the structure of Tanzania's education system and how community engagement in schools’ management helps to mitigate the challenges faced by government secondary schools. Although the paper is analytical in nature, the author primarily uses secondary data to focus on the selected topic. The researchers have also highlighted certain strengths of the Tanzanian education system that may be a lesson for other countries, including India. In the next section of the paper, the paper identifies the lessons that Tanzania and other developing countries can learn from India’s NEP 2020. The results showed that, apart from community engagement in school management, challenges persist, and the government still bears significant responsibility for quality education. The researchers recommend that more studies be conducted to educate the community on the importance of their involvement in school management for quality education and accountability of both school workers and the community, leading to the improvement of all necessary infrastructure and ultimately enabling learners to acquire quality education. |
