Abstract This dissertation delves into the collaborative dynamics unfolding between human creativity and AI tools specifically DALL·E and ChatGPT within art and music. The central question addressed is how these AIs impact human artistic creativity and the overall creative process. A mixed-methods approach was employed; qualitative observations from user experiences were woven together with quantitative assessments of creative outputs, all to gauge the effectiveness of human-AI collaboration. The results suggest that AI interaction can indeed boost creativity by introducing fresh ideas and diverse viewpoints, but it also stirs up fundamental questions about authorship and the inherent value of human creativity as a uniquely human attribute. It's worth noting that survey data pointed to artists and musicians using AI technologies reporting heightened inspiration and a newfound confidence elements previously absent in their practice. This hints at a potential paradigm shift in creative practices within art and music, potentially spurred by AI. The implications extend to other systematic fields, like healthcare, where a collaborative creative process with AI could unlock innovative ideas and solutions. This collaborative creativity with AI could lead to better health outcomes from artistic creative therapies and improved patient experiences. This interdisciplinary investigation adds to our understanding of human-AI collaboration in creative design, and increased awareness could propel the arts in healthcare by safeguarding human creativity as technologies and creative humans learn to coexist cooperatively.
