Socioeconomic Factors Affecting Child Education in Rural Areas

Author(s) MAMNUL KHAN
Country India
Abstract This paper explores how socioeconomic factors influence child education in rural areas. Key factors examined include family income, parental education, occupation, access to learning resources, and community infrastructure. Drawing on contemporary empirical studies, the paper identifies how financial constraints, parental literacy, and limited school facilities affect enrollment, attendance, academic achievement, and overall learning outcomes. Evidence indicates that children from lower socioeconomic backgrounds face significant educational disadvantages, while targeted interventions—such as scholarships, parental engagement programs, and community support initiatives—improve educational access and quality. Practical recommendations are provided for policymakers, educators, and community leaders to address socioeconomic barriers effectively.
