Author(s) SABNAM PARVIN SULTANA
Country India
Abstract Reading habits are a critical factor in academic growth and cognitive development among children and adolescents. This paper examines how regular reading practices influence vocabulary acquisition, comprehension skills, critical thinking, and overall academic performance. Drawing on empirical studies and theoretical frameworks in educational psychology, the paper identifies that consistent engagement with both literary and informational texts enhances learning motivation, cognitive flexibility, and academic achievement. Strategies for fostering reading habits at home and school are discussed, highlighting the roles of parental encouragement, teacher guidance, and accessible reading materials.
