The Effect of Storybooks on Language Development

Abstract Storybooks play a pivotal role in early childhood language development, providing exposure to vocabulary, sentence structures, and narrative forms. This paper examines how reading storybooks influences children’s linguistic skills, including vocabulary acquisition, comprehension, and communication abilities. Drawing on educational psychology theories and empirical studies, the research highlights the importance of interactive reading, parental involvement, and age-appropriate storytelling in fostering language growth and literacy readiness.
