Author(s) Mr. ASHARUL SK
Country India
Abstract This paper explores the influence of social media usage on teenagers’ self-esteem, examining both positive and negative effects. Drawing on developmental psychology and recent empirical studies, it highlights how social comparison, cyberbullying, and online validation impact adolescents’ emotional well-being and self-perception. The study also identifies moderating factors such as parental guidance, peer influence, and social media literacy. Practical recommendations are provided for parents, educators, and policymakers to support healthy social media engagement among teenagers.
