Effects of Bullying on Emotional Growth in Kids

Author(s) PARNA PATRA
Country India
Abstract This research paper examines the impact of bullying on the emotional development of children, highlighting how repeated exposure to peer aggression can affect self-esteem, social skills, emotional regulation, and academic engagement. Drawing on contemporary psychological theories and empirical studies, the paper argues that bullying has both immediate and long-term consequences on emotional growth. The study also emphasizes the roles of parents, teachers, and schools in preventing bullying, supporting victims, and fostering resilience. Evidence-based interventions such as social-emotional learning programs, peer mentoring, and parental involvement are discussed as strategies to mitigate the negative effects of bullying.
