Abstract Title: Assess the level of depression among mothers of children with developmental delay attending at District Early Intervention Centre, Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai. AIM : To assess the level of depression among mothers of children with developmental delay. Objectives: To assess the level of depression among mothers of children with developmental delay and To associate level of depression among mothers of children with developmental delay with selected demographic variables. Hypothesis H1: There is statistically significant association between level of depression among mothers of children with developmental delay with their selected socio demographic variables Methodology: Non experimental (descriptive)study research design was used 30 subjects were selected by Non- probability (purposive) sampling technique, conducted at District Early Intervention Centre, Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai and assessment was done by using Standardized Questionnaire (DASS- 21) Findings: Among 30 samples, majority of the subjects, 7 (14%) were having normal level, 7 (14%) were having Extremly severe depression, 6 (20%) were having severe depression, 5 (17%) were having moderate depression, and 5 (17%) were having mild depression Conclusion: The study concluded that there is statistically significant association between the level of depression among mothers of children with developmental delay with their Nature of mother’s occupation ((χ2 = 27.19, ‘p’ value=0.03), No of hours spent by mother for take care of her child (χ2 =30.12, ‘p’ value=0.002) whereas other socio demo graphic variables were not statistically significant.
