A Study on Startup Ecosystem in Odisha

| Abstract | Odisha Government propelled Start-up Policy in 2016, soon after the start-up India action plan was declared by Government of India. Start-ups play a vital role by generating revolutionary resolutions to country’s thought-provoking matters. The significance of start-ups in the economic development of the nation by creating large-scale job prospects has been acknowledged by all. Therefore, government have come with several innovative actions to create a conducive ecosystem for start-ups. Odisha government have also framed state-level policies to support the start-ups. It has established the Odisha Start-up Hub at Bhubaneswar to provide a world class incubation and co-working facilities. There are many other nodal agencies viz. accelerators, incubators, investors, educational institutions, and research institutions etc. who support start-ups. This paper studies how incubators in Odisha are accomplishing their role as an architect amid start-ups and also to assess their influence on working of start-ups along with evaluating benefits assimilated by founders through incubation support. |
