Making It or Breaking It: What Sets Successful Startups Apart

| Abstract | This paper explores the key challenges and success factors that determine the survival and growth of startups in today’s competitive business environment. Using secondary research from academic journals, industry reports, and case studies, it analyzes both internal and external elements such as product–market fit, financial management, team dynamics, leadership quality, timing, and access to funding. The study highlights how strategic planning, adaptability, and strong leadership increase a startup’s chance of success, while poor financial control and weak market validation often lead to failure. Special focus is given to the Indian startup ecosystem, outlining how government initiatives and investor interest are improving the conditions for new ventures. |
