Seismic Analysis and Design of Residental Building According to Nbc Code

Abstract	This project explores the seismic design of a six-story reinforced concrete residential building located in Kathmandu one of Nepal’s most earthquake-prone regions. Using ETABS and the Response Spectrum Method, we analyzed the building under NBC code. We focused on key design parameters like base shear, reinforcement detailing. It is focused on the process and outcomes of analysis of building according to Nepal Building Code. Structural drawings were prepared using NBC provisions to meet Nepal’s regulatory standards. This study highlights how codes formulation can impact both safety and cost, and offers practical insights for engineers working in seismic Zone V areas like Kathmandu Valley
