| Abstract | In order to improve urban mobility and transportation efficiency, this study examines patterns of road traffic flow and assesses efficient congestion-reduction techniques. The study determines peak congestion periods and the main contributing variables, including abrupt surges in traffic flow, physical bottlenecks, and delays brought on by traffic signal timing, by examining traffic data from important intersections and road networks inside large metropolitan regions. By providing a thorough understanding of how and why congestion develops, this data-driven method paves the way for focused remedies. Intelligent traffic management systems, adaptive signal control, dedicated lanes for high-occupancy vehicles or public transit, and policies that encourage the use of public transportation are only a few of the realistic congestion reduction techniques that are evaluated in this study. The ability of these tactics to improve traffic flow and cut down on delays is assessed. The results promote the creation of more intelligent, sustainable traffic control systems that can better serve expanding urban populations and changing mobility demands by providing insightful information to legislators, urban planners, and transportation authorities. |
