| Abstract | In the modern technological landscape, the knowledge of Industry 4.0 (IR 4.0) is the fuel for any business growth and individual’s development. This study investigates the understanding of Industry 4.0 and perception towards the need of the knowledge of Industry 4.0 among individuals. A demographic study was also performed based on gender, age and occupation. The study surveyed 182 participants through a self-structured questionnaire and by using convenient sampling. The collected data were examined by using SPSS 22, incorporating descriptive statistics, t-tests and ANOVA. The findings highlighted that people had heard about industry 4.0, however knowledge gap with the application part was observed. It was also found that there was a significant difference of awareness of IR 4.0 and perception towards knowledge of IR 4.0 technologies in career development with respect to gender, occupation and age concerning Industry 4.0. This underscores the need for enhanced awareness campaigns and integration of Industry 4.0 area into educational curricula. |
