| Abstract | This research paper has examined investing and expenditure patterns across five sectors in a country: health, education, defence, infrastructure and Research and Development. It aims to understand how these government expenditures can influence long-term national growth, welfare and add significant value to an economy. It also highlights the importance of strategic, well-planned, well-prioritised spending, and the type of investment/expenditure matters more than its amount. The data also emphasises the correlated nature of public investments and their role in shaping sustainable development. The findings of this paper demonstrate how governments that shift more towards human capital and innovation-based spending can yield better economic responses. The paper also contributes to comprehending how governments can align fiscal priorities with long-term growth. |
