Author(s) Prof. Shweta Kumari

Abstract There have been two sides of debate when it comes to mythological stories. One who believes these stories to be mystical and supernatural which is impossible in the present time and the other argues these stories to be the result of knowledge and wisdom. There have been countless debates on these two schools of thought relating to mythological characters and stories. One of the most prominent is the myth of Shikhandi’s transformation from woman to man in order to take her revenge and many of the writers have penned their version of the story. Either the myth is supernatural in form or it has scientific reasoning behind the transformation.
