Abstract This study underscores the importance of culturally sensitive digital finance programs that discern the dual influence of matrilineal values and digital finance shift. By positioning digital financial inclusion within the cultural framework of the matrilineal society of Meghalaya, this study contributes to a nuanced understanding of how gendered financial behaviour is not only dictated by patriarchy but also by localized socio-cultural configuration. This paper concludes with enhanced policy and regulatory framework for inclusiveness, community engagement programs, enhanced security and privacy measures and culturally tailored financial literacy programs.
