Abstract Abstract
One of the most important factors in the development and advancement of nations worldwide is the empowerment of women. Empowering women is crucial for global progress. Empowerment, in this context, means enabling women to overcome barriers and actively shape their own lives. Despite being the backbone of many rural societies, women are often overlooked and lack the resources for self-sufficiency. They need economic independence through self-employment and entrepreneurship to improve their well-being. Women’s empowerment has become a significant global focus. True empowerment is an active process that allows women to realize their full potential in every aspect of life. One effective way to achieve this is through entrepreneurship, which creates wealth and opportunities. Self-Help Groups (SHGs) have proven to be a powerful tool for this purpose. These groups institutionalize the process of economic empowerment by providing training and creating income and employment opportunities. They are particularly beneficial for rural and tribal women, offering micro-credit to help them start their own businesses. Entrepreneurship provides a viable solution for empowering women, generating income while also offering flexible hours that accommodate their roles as homemakers. This study aims to assess women's participation in SHGs and examine how these groups have successfully created livelihood opportunities, specifically for tribal women.
