Abstract This study explores the impact of social media on crime prevention and community perceptions of the Philippine National Police (PNP), emphasizing its role in enhancing communication and public safety. Utilizing a mixed-methods research design, data were collected from various stakeholders, including the PNP, media corps, and community members, to assess social media's implementation effectiveness in crime prevention strategies. The findings reveal a consensus among stakeholders regarding social media's effectiveness, with a median implementation score of 3, indicating its critical role in information dissemination, community engagement, and public relations. However, differences in perceived effectiveness were noted, particularly between the PNP and Media Corps, necessitating improved collaboration. Additionally, while social media has been recognized for its potential to elevate public awareness and encourage citizen participation in crime reporting, challenges such as misinformation, privacy concerns, and the need for tailored communication strategies persist. Recommendations for the PNP include ongoing training for officers, the establishment of structured feedback mechanisms, and the development of collaborative projects with community organizations. An action plan is proposed to enhance community engagement through proactive social media campaigns, education on responsible usage, and training in misinformation management. By addressing these challenges, the PNP can leverage social media more effectively to foster trust and cooperation and ultimately enhance crime prevention efforts in Region 5. The study underscores the importance of evolving strategies in response to the dynamic social media landscape to promote public safety and collaboration between law enforcement and community members.
