Author(s) Mr. Pareekshith B Vashishta

Abstract The Haridāsa literature of Karnataka is one of the most engaging, eloquent and effective forms of literature that helped uplift the societal harmony. Purandaradāsa is one of the greatest Haridāsas that graced the Bhakti movement. The Haridāsas were the forerunners of the rampant Bhakti movement, especially in Karnataka in the 15th century. Purandaradāsa and others wandered and undertook many pilgrimages. They visited many temples across present day Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. There are some beautiful compositions made on those deities as well. This paper aims to have a bird’s eye view on the various travels of Purandaradāsa and corresponding compositions.
