| Abstract | This study examines the degree of work-life balance (WLB) and gender-based disparities among teachers in higher secondary schools. Teachers frequently have a lot of responsibilities, such as planning curricula, instructing, guiding students, and handling administrative tasks. This can cause stress and make it difficult to balance personal and professional obligations. A structured questionnaire was used to gather data from 30 teachers at two higher secondary schools in Valakom, Kerala, using a normative survey approach. According to the analysis, 10% report having a low level of WLB, 20% have a high level, and 70% maintain an equilibrium level. According to gender-based results, female teachers (58.5%) are more impacted by WLB than male teachers (41.5%), indicating that women have a harder time balancing work and personal obligations. In order to improve teachers' well-being, motivation, and productivity and ultimately create a positive work culture that benefits educators and the educational system overall the findings highlight the significance of institutional support, such as flexible working hours, administrative help, wellness initiatives, and professional development opportunities. |
