Abstract Aging is a natural and inevitable biological process that brings with it several physical, psychological, social, and economic changes. In India, individuals aged 60 years and above are considered senior citizens. With the elderly population rising rapidly, ensuring their rights has become crucial. Although laws like the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 exist, many older adults remain unaware or unable to access their legal rights. In many cases, senior citizens are subjected to neglect, isolation, and even abuse, making it essential to safeguard their dignity and well-being through legal and social measures. Therefore, research is needed to assess awareness and promote effective protection of senior citizens rights.
